ABC Wednesday
S is for Switching on the Christmas Lights

This is the first of six photographs taken at the Switching on of the Christmas Lights outside Hyde Town Hall.

Market Street was closed off and a stage had been erected across it. The gathered crowd was being entertained by a variety of acts including a rock singer, a brass band and a children's choir.

The lights had been erected back in September.

They seem to be decorating for Christmas earlier every year, everywhere! Beautiful captures for the S Day!!

Great capture - I avoided the switching on of the local lights last week - it's bedlam!

Great shot Gerald. I'm not quite ready to do the Christmas lights yet. It just feels too early.

They seem to be doing the switching on earlier over there than here but then we are slower than most places.

Septemeber! I prefer my Christmas to wait until December, but even here it was adverts before Halloween. Cosy scene though.

Looks like the festivities have now begun!

How peaceful a sight !

Over here the lights are left throughout the whole year, yet hardly able to provide much of a Christmas mood. Made me remember home, thank you. Please have a good Wednesday.
