Just bought the first Gingerbread cookies with me son during the afternoon.
As for the decoration, usually the city authorities leave it up throughout the whole year.
Please have a good Thursday.

I can't believe there are Christmas decorations up!
Wow and I was in a panic because they were putting up Halloween stuff at work.
Wow. Isn't it still too soon for X-mas decorations?! It's early autumn! Is there a contest about the earliest decoration? But I've to admit that I've bought German lebkuchen too....
To go off on a tangent somewhat I've just been reading in today's Manchester Evening News that the Bishop of Manchester 'is set to launch Britain's first religious Easter egg'. Isn't it a disgrace the way Christianity is always trying to take over the hedonistic festivals of Easter and Christmas. (Tongue firmly in cheek, before anyone wants to have a go at me for that!)
Do you not think that it is because Christmas and Easter are Christain festivals, and they wouldn't exist without christianity?
Thanks, Anonymous, just my hamfisted attempt at 'irony' and a rebuke at the way such festivals have come to be used as an excuse for commercial profiteering and individual gluttony and over-indulgence.
In fact the Xians took over pagan festivals so yes these festivals would exist without Christianity.
billyB is right of course, and it looks as if the pagans are well on their way to reclaiming the festivals!
