Round the Bend
Yesterday I showed you the bend in Mottram Old Road. Today I take you round the bend. On the right hand side is a wood that overlooks Stonepit Reservoir.
Walk on down the road and in winter when some of the trees are bare you can actually get a glimpse of the reservoir. Compare it with the glimpse I showed you two years ago in December 2006.

I like the tree on the left that's had a haircut!
Are you 'stuck' indoors? Keep warm.
I am enjoying visiting your blog once again!
Ha! I've walked that bend a few times... and also stopped further down in the 'Buxton Inn' for a pint or three... :O)
I always like seeing whats around the bend. I'm like a curious cat;)Love your blog!
you home area seems so sleepy and quiet - does anyone ever let their hair down? ever???
I meant to comment on this post earlier...I like that top photo a lot.
You commented on my blog about being unfamiliar with the term strip pit. It comes from strip mining...or I guess you could call it surface mining. (Out there where I take my photos it was for coal.) Lots of time I think they have to keep the water pumped away while they actually mine. Then when they are done the area fills with water and we refer to them as strip pits. Some are rather shallow and some are pretty deep. Most of them are stocked with fish--bluegill, crappie, bass and I am not sure what else. Those are the ones I have caught. Oh and catfish.
