No Snow Today
A couple of days of snow and the UK grinds to a halt, or so it appears from the media frenzy. Other places in the world just cope with it. I thought of going out to bring you some pictures of the snow but couldn't be bothered.
If you want to know what it was like just look at Martin's picture from neighbouring Ashton under Lyne and that is very much how it was here too.
I spent most of Wednesday huddled round the gas fire as our central heating broke down and the plumber couldn't come until 3pm. It turned out the boiler was full of dead insects which he vaccuumed out and now I am pleased to say we are warm again.
Today's picture was taken on Saturday and shows a dapper young man and his dog as they disappear round the back of the Theatre Royal past the YMCA.
Over the top of Ahmed Bros Cash & Carry can be seen the domes of the Jamia Mosque which is still under construction.

Thanks for the link, Gerald. In fact, I've put 3 more snow photos on since the one in the link. There's more snow forecast for tomorrow, but it may not come to much. I don't blame you for keeping indoors - that's what I did today!
I always love all the twists and turns in the streets and pathways of your town. It always makes me curious to know what's round the bend.
Hi noticed you added the Hamilton County Gazzetter to your blog roll. Thank you. I is really my mom's I just her work up for her. It is located in Texas.
What a difference a few days make! Glad to hear you're warm again.
this is a lovely shot, timed well just before the dog and his walker disappeared round the bend!

the cold really is a nasty thing to have to put up with
we have had good weatehr lately and havent had to turn on any heating (good for our pockets)
Great shot. I wait with great anticipation to see whats around the corner! I love the mystery;)
Nice one Gerald, its SNOWING here again.
Nice picture! Glad you are warm again. Snow here would bring us to a halt too. It did go down to 14 degrees this morning--a new record low here for this date.
