I've shown you the
bridge to Derbyshire and also the
border post supporting the
Broadbottom viaduct over the river Etherow.
Today I am by the Besthill Quarry bus stop on the Derbyshire side looking at both bridges.
The road bridge dates from 1683 whilst the viaduct was built in 1859 replacing a wooden structure from 1846 which burnt down.

Hi, I have installed Google Earth on my new laptop, the old laptop wouldnt run Google Earth.
Anyway, I looked at the Broadbottom rail bridge on there and found it easy enough.
Also on Google Earth there are links to pictures of the viewed area, this is an interesting way to see other views of a place.
I like the way you have got bus rail and would it have been barge at one time in the shot? No silly me it's a river not a canal. u ahve captured the march of the time though the progression to a bus route.
