Tunnel at Hyde North
This short tunnel at the end of Junction Road goes under two railway lines and comes out onto Johnson Brook Road.
Steps on the right lead up to Hyde North Station, on the line from Marple and Romily to Manchester.
The line from Glossop via Flowery Field also crosses over this tunnel before joining the line from Marple.

I really like the angle you took this photo at, Gerald. I like the you can see the curve in the tunnel and the end on the other side.

If we cant get over ...we can maybe go around...then we can go under it...Love it...;-)
That was a narrow tunnel - can two cars pass, or is it only for pedestrians? I bet they can hear the trains very well beneath!
I'm not certain if it is wide enough for two cars to pass inside the tunnel but it is for vehicles. The road on the other side is very cobbled and not smooth. I'll be posting a view from the opposite direction probably next Monday so then you can see it.
Thinking tunnel as bridge is great, it connects smooth.
Nice and interesting bridge builders Gerald.
My bridge and odd shot are now showing.
Hi sir Gerald! I just want to bring you the good news! I recived an e-mail saying that my City photo Blog has been approved! Thanks for your help^^ God BLess ytou! I'm just so happy!
Really interesting!
I looks like a tunnel we have to pass when we are going to our cabin:) Very nice photo and I love the angle you took this photo:)
Have a nice day:)
A tunnel for cars, a bridge for trains, perfect thinking!
Fancy`s comment amused me. ;)
Nice shot. Great angle. I can see the light in the end of the tunnel.
Ugly and nice on the same time..., but nessaserely yes !!
Great idea for bridging. A tunnel instead of a standard bridge over water.
Job well done.
My bridge is built.
Come visit,
Troy
Great and interesting.
A dual purpose construction that actually works in practise. I am
impressed. Into teresting little tunnel. Light at the end of a very short tunnel appeals.
Great!
Hmmm også tunneller er broer ja, det tenkte jeg også men glemte kameraet mitt hjemme i går...
Over, uncer, around, and through! There's more than one way of getting across.
