Corner

Another view of the new trees planted outside the Town Hall at the corner of Corporation Street.

This was taken some weeks ago, before the gas men started laying the new main.

Some heather plants have been added since.

I've often thought of following new plantings such as this with a year by year shot, but so far tend to lie down till those thoughts go away!

Maybe next year!

These shrubs are nice - hope we get to see a pic with the heather as well.

A well maintained little corner of the world. Is Hyde as clean and well kept as your images appear? I note the lack of chewing gum. Gum always seems increased when I return to the UK,or is it something I notice, due to our lack of the pavement edition?

kaz I nearly took one of them this morning but photographed more of the roadworks instead (treats in store later)

babooshka I think Hyde has quite its share of rubbish blowing about - no worse nor better than most places I suspect -- as I've posted before - fag ends are the biggest litter since pubs banned smoking.
I haven't noticed any problems with gum though.
Hyde does seem to have a decent army of street cleaners about and shopping mall is especially well cleaned.

It's funny, how this kind of raised bed with plants adds much more character to a street and embellishes the place too.
Have a great day!

Why don't they fix that leaky drainpipe? spend all that money cleaning the building only to have green moss staining the stone.

It looks a bit bare now, but with the heather and hopefully some more flowers this could well turn into a city oasis! In which case, we shall expect more photos of it! :)
