Queen Adelaide Inn Sign
It is Q week at ABC Wednesday. There are two obvious candidates for featuring on Hyde DP.
First there is The Queens in the town centre with its guard dog and an inn sign that portrays the six wives of Henry VIII.
Second is the Queen Adelaide in Gee Cross.
I've already posted a photograph of the inn sign that is round the side of the pub next to a plaque with information about Queen Adelaide.
Today I'm going with the second candidate and am posting a photo of the sign that is on the front of the QA.
My other ABC-Wednesday Q posts this week are ~~ Queen Adelaide Reservoir under construction at Old Hyde ~~ Queen Victoria's Back at Ackworth born, gone West ~~ Queen Victoria Not Amused at Sithenah

A nice sing with all the right royal elements.
Thank you for sharing.
Hyde
Thank you ;-)
When it comes to Q, everyone living in the UK or the Commonwealth has an advantage, wouldn't you say? ;-) Hooray for the word "queen"!
This is a striking photograph, Gerald and a good choice. The sign jumps off the page at you. I really like it.
I like the q choices that are unique to an area and this one certainly is. The image is so sharp, crystal clear.
Hello Gerald and thanks for dropping by my blog (and for the food tip!!) Great Q post.
Gary
Another beautiful inn sign !Typically English, isn'it !
Miss Yves
great choice for q theme
Will you visit mine Thanks
Appropriate choice for "Q" Wednesday!
Arne supplied the Norwegian answer to "Louis's" Question about CAIRNS for which you supplied the English answer!
"Our" queen is certainly remembered; your inn and our wine!
Another queen, an obvious choice for a not so easy letter to phtograph.
Thank you for letting me know I messed up my link. I have posted a corrected one.
You have reminded me of a Queen Victoria phot that I have. I will find it and post it. You will be amused.
I likes it too Gerald.
Nice one - original. I like the different take on "queen".
Lots of choices for queen and Q. Lots of history too. I chose to use nearby Quadra Island for Q. It is a fun vacation destination that you can see by clicking here. – Margy
Great sign..such bold colors!
I like the Queen theme you can do but the sign is stunning!
A lot of people did "queen" someone or other, but I love that you did the sign! :D
I like the sign. Very regal.
I got such a kick out of your honest comment! do you personally dislike ALL q-tips. or just pictures of them - lol. thanks for visiting.
great choice for your Q post, thanks for sharing.
From the outside, the restaurant looks very homey. Is this place a hotel too?
Great Q post. I have always like shields quite a bit.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Gerald. I appreciate it very much.
I enjoyed reading the links in your post. Ths is an interesting sign! We don't have many like this here.
avcr8teur, unfortunately it hasn't got a very good reputation. It's just a pub, I don't know if it does food these days, it does tend to be a real drinking place.
Crumbs - so many Q's from you :) I'm most impressed I didn't have my solo entry until the day before and even then I resorted to latin to do it!
Hope you're having a great weekend!
