Snow on the Hydrangea

Well it did indeed snow on Friday night.

On Saturday morning, everything was covered, including the hydrangea bush.

It is a bit different from how the blooms looked in August.

The sun came out though and by mid-afternoon all the snow had gone.

More of this morning's snow on Winter Haiku 2007 and Sithenah

So pretty and puffy!
This sounds like an Alabama snow...snow in the a.m., gone in the p.m. Then, it might return in a few years, maybe.

Wonderful photo of your come-and-gone snow. I'm glad you provided the link to the raindrops photo, too.

Thanks so much for your visits and comments, as well as your best wishes for all of us.

Not only does the Mt. Tabor skilled nursing facility allow dogs to visit their people, the Providence Portland Hospital has a therapy dog who roams from patient room to patient room, with a person, visiting anyone who feels like petting him. He's a golden lab named Alain, and Mama got to visit with him for a few moments on her last Tuesday there. I found out that he's the pet of a hospital administrator and that the woman with him is a volunteer. Everyone in the room was grinning and talking to him, feeling good. Of course, Alain thoroughly enjoyed it, too.

We call them hortensia. We have the same sort of winter!

Thanks for the notice about the link! My server was down last night, so I was unaware that it had gone haywire.

We also did not have much snow this year, as the old folks say, this winter is not winter! =)

The hydrangea are lovely. I've never seen them before.

I didn't know that our French "hortensia" was called 'hydrangea'.
It is said that "hortensia" came from "hortensius" (from thegarden) because this flower grew in Japanese and Chinese gardens.
Its first name was "peautia caelestina" after Nicole Reine Le paute a French mathematician woman of the XVIIIth century.
