The Seal's Head
I recently showed you a picture of the Hyde Seal.
Here is a close-up of its head.
The sculpture commemorates the Hyde Seal Water Polo team who were world champions for three years from 1904-1906.
Today's picture on Old Hyde is of a group of girls from the club in 1925.

Two wonderful photos; love the companion piece of the group picture of the team.
Nice sculpture and the old photo showing the group is great. Now I know why the seal is there. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, Gerald I mistakenly called you hyde in one of my blog comments =D sorry 'bout that. Lamps could be annoying sometimes so what I did is I photograph them a subjects instead of them getting in the way of my photos.
Anyway, great close up! So the swimming team must be really good! TC!
Is water polo a big sport today in the UK? I guess not.
This is my favorite photo, of the seal, so far.
I like the colours of the seal, and the slickness. nice to have a close up.
