Seal from across the street
I've already shown you the Hyde Seal as viewed from the north side and also from the south side.
So here now is a view from across the street. Shame about the lamp-post.

Fine sculpture.
Here's a link towards a song about "La complainte d'un phoque en Alaska".
I really like this Gerald, I hope Tameside put more up.. At night when it is lit up it dose look well.
ugh! yes the lamp post!!! why did they have to build it in front of such a lovely seal.
well the lamp-post and the tree were there first but they do obscure the view - one might ask could the sculpture have been sited in a better place. It was there a couple of weeks before I even knew about and I'd been across the road from it twice. In summer with leaves on the tree it is even more obscured from the market.
I didn't know it was lit up at night - I never go down town after dark!
I like the video.
The statue is kind of in a bad place if you can't see it in the summer!
Indeed an interesting sculpture. I am curious to know what car is the silver one if you happen to know.
interesting place for a seal!
