Little Stonepit (or Diamond Row)
As reported here earlier, Stonepit Reservoir is being prepared for the fishing season.
At one time there was another reservoir known as Little Stonepit (see note below). It occupied the triangular piece of land bounded by Back Bower, Stockport Road and Lilly Street.
Now it is an area of open grassland with a few trees. This is looking across to Lily Street.
Update June 2008: My current information is that the area I've been referring to as Little Stonepit is actually called Diamond Row after a group of cottages that once stood on the corner of Stockport Road and Back Bower Lane.

Gerald, is Stockport Road leading to the town of Stockport? I spent time there in years gone by. Lovely green.

Thank you for your comment on my daily photo. I find your photos very well. It lets know the country. A little romantic, of the dark winter, and then the colours of the spring !
What beautiful green grass! Looks so cool and fresh.
Sure is green. Who mows the grass or cuts it?
ah my dad has been out buying his fishing licence this week - all the poor trout are going to have a hard time in the next few months!
OMG, I miss the green lawn. It makes me want to roll around on it.
