Tin'stle Bells
Tin'stle Bells are a longstanding group of handbell ringers based in nearby Ashton.
Here they are seen performing in St George's for the Mayor and others at the recent Heritage Open Weekend.
There used to be handbell ringers in St George's more than forty years ago, but the bells were lost. Tin'stle Bells found, bought and restored them. They now form part of the group's large collection.

At the risk of offending many.... Oh I can't stop laughing when I see bell ringers taking it all so serious!!!
I've heard small groups before which weren't very good, but this group were wonderful musicians and of course you do have to have concentration when playing. Between the serious performances I found them a very fun-loving group of people.
Hey -- then even made the mayor laugh if you follow the link to an earlier picture.
Was this a small or large group, if you remember?
There were about eight ringers at the event in September. Don't know how big the group is, but probably fairly small. I don't have any contact details for them unfortunatly.
