Last Orders Inn

This is the entrance to the Last Orders Inn on Market Street.

This pub used to be called the Clarendon Arms. There was a fatal shooting here a few years ago, which probably accounts for the change in name.

Strange choice of name in that case!

Doesn't it seem somewhat ironic? They change to name, presumably to disassociate themselves, but I am sure that you and the entire rest of the local population now says, the pub that used to be called, because ... bla, bla. In a way, changing the name and forcing the explanation only increases the association.

It had a spell of being called "The Beer Engine" between its original name of the clarendon and its new name of last orders
