The George & Its Clock Gone

When I showed you The George in May it still looked like a pub but now the old signage and clock have been removed.

The tree on the Woodend Lane side has also disappeared.

Yep, what a shame. Bet it'll be on 'Homes under the hammer' next week :>/

Maybe the tree was causing structural problems. Can't see why they took the clock down though - I bet it made a nice feature for anyone walking up Gt Norbury St.

I wonder what it will become?

What a bummer! I like the British/English pubs very much. They're very lovely establishments. I'm excited about the successor too. Gerald, please just hang in there.

I hope they can open a new business there. The building is beautiful, I'm always enchanted by these bricks!
