Chartists Waving Balloons
The Chartist Statue by Stephen Broadbent, unveiled outside Hyde Town Hall on 28th November 2002, commemorates and celebrates the achievements of the Chartists.
For more information about this follow the links on my earlier post for 19th October 2009.
At the end of March someone had tied a bunch of balloons around the hand of one of the figures.
You can see the full photograph from which this was cropped on Geograph.
The CDPB theme for today is Statues. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants.

Let's hope they don't fly away.
Don't take the ballon away! They look cute together.

Theme Day ~ Statue
Great combination of colours.
I followed your link about the chartist movement - very interesting. I see that they had a very modern view on what democracy should be. A pity that the view has not been fulfilled.
Very interesting composition!
God bless you!

Good one for the meme, Gerald!
I know that I’m late. It was a busy weekend. But let me say that I like your shot and your realization of the theme very much. And I want to agree with CafebyJW - don't take the balloons away!!
