Winter at Knott Fold

Regular visitors may remember being shown this notice for horse riders back in July when it was overgrown by nettles.

By October the nettles had been cut back as I showed you on Hyde DP Xtra.

This is how it looked yesterday afternoon when the bridle path was still icy.

I recall this bridge from my younger days Abe.... I would climb up and watch the steam trains going up and down these lines... A few of us would also walk across the outside of this bridge on the ledge, holding onto the top of the bridge for dear life whist shuffling our feet across... I walked this path a while back and shivered at the thought of myself doing that...

Yes, cold. But the place has it's own charm.

That path would be filled with bicyclists if it were here.

An evocative study, takes us to older, natural surroundings free of hype, even knowing the latest could be just around the corner out of sight
