This is the path into Gower Hey Woods from Osborne Road.
Compare it if you will with the same view in August 2007 or the view in the opposite direction in June 2009.

To the left, over the stone wall and up the bank, there used to be a large old house - Gower Hey Bank. I lived there with my parents in the 1950s until I got married (1959) and moved to Canada where we have been ever since. That was 50 years ago last month - we just celebrated our Golden Wedding anniversary!
I believe that Gower Hey Bank was torn down and replaced by flats.

The house that is mentioned above might be the one the a certain Thomas Middleton lived... he's an old Mayor of Hyde that wrote the books Annals Of Hyde and the Legends Of Longdendale.. nice to see the cobbles showing now Gerald.
I love the picture in June 2009, all orange colours so romantic!

What an inspiring path. Soothing, poetic, lovely.
Lovely with the green and red.
I'd love to walk down that path...a wonderful shot.
this almost looks like a passage to a secret garden...
