Gravestones and Industry

Last week I showed you the Southern aspect of Newton St Mary's.

I posed the question - why won't I be showing you the Eastern aspect?

Some of you knew; some of you guessed; some of you possibly had a look on google earth. As you can see here, beyond the gravestones, there is an industrial estate behind the church.

I must admit that I used a combination of Google maps (though not Google Earth which I have not installed) and ordinary Internet search. It was quite fun to do some of "research" again. On the other hand - it is a bit frightening to see the amount of information that is available at the point of your fingertips.

Graveyards are endlessly fascinating, both visually and indefinably.

Rather, think of it as the church being where it's needed and where the people are.

Nice photo. I read RunE's comment and I assume he knows he is on the Internet even as you are.

I refrained from finding out until today. No, I hadn't come to this conclusion. Strange neighbours.

I noticed in the Adveriser that there are plans afoot to build about 12 houses on the land where the Junction Inn and car park stand now please please can you take some photos of it before it goes. I dont drink and have never been in any of the pubs in hyde but still feel sad to see lovely old buildings being torn down , nothing better ever takes its place

It is indeed a contrast. The two places really don't seem to go together - not that the occupants of the graveyard are that bothered, I shouldn't imagine!
