Barnsley 24
This old signpost and lamp near the Gun Inn at Hollingworth is somewhat obscured by the tree behind it.
The lamp was probably originally lit by gas but is now electric.
Barnsley is 24 miles distant on the A628 over Woodhead, Manchester is 10 miles West along the A57 and Glossop is just 3 miles away.

I really like this signpost/lightpost! It's so unique and has such a beauty about it!
such a pretty signpost - old-worldly but very picturesque
Speaking of Barnsley I was in a cafe in North Yorks today, when a couple came in and got chatting to a woman on the table next to them. At one point a snippet of what the woman was saying to them drifted across to me: "Yes, I thought you would be from Barnsley, because I heard you saying to the waitress you were coming in for a waarm"
I love the South Yorkshire accent!
