Gun Inn
The Gun Inn at Hollingworth is an ancient hostelry and coaching inn.
It occupies a strategic position where the A57 from Liverpool to Sheffield via the Snake Pass turns right towards Glossop whilst the A628 carries forward over the Woodhead Pass to Barnsley.

Great picture, love it.
Thai cuisine? not all it's made out to be. I'd sooner have the small chippy!
Pat Phoenix who played Elsie Tanner on Coronation lived just around the corner from the Gun Inn with Anthony Booth (Cherie Blair's father) quote "Coronation Street icon Pat Phoenix, who took him in to her cottage at Hollingworth, Cheshire, in the autumn of 1980." Little bit of trivia. Another great pub. Cheers Linda
ah yes, a good engloish pub - a heartwarming sight!
This looks like just my kind of place.
My greatgrandmother Betty Warhurst belonged to the family who were innkeepers at one time. (100-160yrs ago). She married Wright Massey approx 1858 & left England for southwestern Wisconsin, USA. I believe that her father & brother were innkeepers. I visited there in April of 2006.
