The Village Chippy

Some two years ago I had an email from someone asking for a photo of Tommy Chow's, the very popular purveyor of fried chicken, fish, pies, chips and peas.

By the time I got round there it had already closed, but not long afterwards the shop re-opened under new owners as the Village Chippy.

I thought it was about time I took another picture. I don't frequent takeawayfood these days so have not personally tried their wares, but those I know who have testify positively.

oh yes, the food of the gods, fried chicken, fish, pies, chips and peas. Can't beat it!

Now that brings back some memories hanging out outside the local chippy when I was a teenager.

I'll take 2 mini fish, chips, mushy peas and some onion rings.

Fattening I know, but chuffin delicious!

I second that. The one thing I find I miss here in the States is the village chippy. We have our fish and chips of course, but it's not quite the same as the memories I have of stopping in the local fish and chip shop and getting a bag to eat on the way home on a cold night. I enjoy your blog very much, along with the super photos. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I can honestly say, the chippy icpnic image that it is does not do it for me. The other half though, a Fleetwood boy admits it would be a real wrench not to have a weekly intake.
