New Trees outside the Town Hall

As I reported last week there are no more palm trees in front of the Town Hall.

Here is the new 2008 plantation.

I think they'll be adding some flowers around the trees very soon.

I find the new trees very adorable :P

I guess these shrubs are easier to trim than palm trees. During Christmas, they can throw on a few lights and they'll look festive.

They seem terribly appropriate somehow, don't they?

I've got to admit--I didn't realize palm trees could thrive in a UK climate. But if they were healthy, it's a shame to have torn them up.

On the plus side, these new trees ARE pretty cute.

I love those new plants and I wish I had some in my yard. We started working on landscaping yesterday and need to do even more to catch up with over a year of neglect due to work! Have a great week.

It's so nice to see the effort in making Hyde a nice presentable town. Yes, we complain at the increasing council tax each year, but it does go towards creating a nice town centre for Hyde folk.

My sisters OH planted these trees, Tom, you wouldn't want to know the price, they are standard holly trees and they aren't plastic. And one was stolen on the first night they were there.
