Beams

These beams are inside Newton Hall which was open yesterday as part of the Heritage Open Days.

The 14th century cruck framed manor house was restored in 1970 by W Kenyon & Sons Ltd.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a ceiling like that to look at every day. It's beautiful.

Those beams certainly give a building character.

These beam are stunning, I walked around there with Gerald yesterday and enjoyed the visit. All the beams have pegged and dowel joints and are still doing the job there were made for.

Interestingly, this last weekend was also a National Trust-type day around here, too

Love all the lines and angles in this shot. You inspired me to try a "buildings" photo with some geometry to it, as well. I have also linked to your site from mine. --FortLauderdaleDailyPhoto.com

Wow, these beams looks nice.

They don't have such things anymore, it's usually steel nowadays.

Oh yes, thanks for the award :-)

That's a nice woodwork. I see that the beams are more or less irregular in shape. It looks like a warm and comfortable place.
