This 14th century building is surrounded by an iron fence and is situated next to a light industrial estate on the road to Dukinfield.

odd. it reminds me of newtoWn village hall on the Isle of Wight, which is also ancient.
I remember Newton Hall when it was the old barn to the farm before they discovered it had some archaeological significance (we did not know what archaeology was!). When I was a girl I would walk into Hyde with my 2 shilling pocket money buy something for my brother and save 2pence for the bus back home which stopped on Duki Road at the Hall. Those were the days gone but not forgotten.
