The Wellington Hotel has finally been demolished.
The white building in the background is Pitfield Cottages built in 1869.

All over my part of Yorkshire pubs are having a really bad time. I visited a friends place today, have not been to her cottage for a while and was surprised to note that the pub almost opposite has been shut for 6 months. I have very nearly been doing Leeds daily photo for 2 years now and already some pubs I have photographed are no longer pubs.
What a shame. What will they do with the site? I guess the age of replacing with 'executive apartments' is over!
I take it that the storm affecting London is missing you.
Geoff - it is being advertised for industrial use along with the land next to it which belonged to an Engineering Works which has was demolished over the last year and now has a new houses - apartments (not neccesarily executive) are still being built around here.
Fred - the photo was taken about ten days ago before the recent heavy snowfalls.
