What a joy it must be arriving every morning at such a beautiful place.
Please have you all a good start into the new week.

Do they still teach school in there? Very pretty from the outside, but it looks like it'd be so dark inside.
No it isn't a school; never was; it was where the schoolmaster lived; it is now part of a "community centre".
I was born here in 1940. We rented the School House from 1940to 1946. Then we moved to 1 Market Place. The house had been previously occupied by the School master Mason and after us came George Dunckley who was the next School Master. He had previously been living part of the Old Hall.
After him came the Heap family who built a garage on the side. Then the house belonged to Laurence Toole, hairdresser, who made many alterations. I believe it was owned by the Gibson family in recent years.
The motto "Manners maketh Man" over the front door is the motto of Winchester College. The house had no upstairs windows on the front so as not to overlook the Vicarage which stood opposite.

Well this is news to me that our home is part of a "community centre".
We have lived in this property for the past 20+ years and brought up two children here.
Really interesting to read Rogtags entry....would love to hear more.
We extended the property in 2005. If I can I will add an updated photo.
Michael - you may wish to contact me about this via the Geograph site http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/700148 where I published the original photo which I took in 2003 - I'm not sure now what source gave me the (mis)information that it was now part of a "community centre".
