Gardeners Arms

The Gardeners Arms on Lumn Road is a pub with a long history. In May it was boarded up but now it has found new landlords and is open for business again.

As can be seen on Hyde DP Xtra, the nearby Globe Inn has not fared so well.

Looks like a fun place. Love their signage!

Not sure why the street sign was covered in my post. Maybe so it doesn't confuse the tourist.

Wonderful. I like pub shots. And I like pubs - lovely and unconstrained places. It's a pity that we haven't any pubs in Germany. Thanks for this post, Gerald.

The signs outside the British pubs are a cultural heritage all of its own.

Are pubs becoming less fashionable? I'm surprised that any English pub would close down, even for a few months.

I didn't think that Pubs ever closed over there.

I'm glad it found new owners! Looks like a fun place! I agree with Rune, the signs outside British Pubs are in a class all their own! Enjoy the rest of your week!

I love those old signs, they are a lot better than most new ones you see around on a day to day basis. It looks as if someone put some thought and effort into them.

Back to chronicles of the city with not reporting today. Looks like the new owners are putting some love into the place.
