Gardeners Arms
The Gardeners Arms on Lumn Road is a pub with a long history. In May it was boarded up but now it has found new landlords and is open for business again.
As can be seen on Hyde DP Xtra, the nearby Globe Inn has not fared so well.

Looks like a fun place. Love their signage!
Not sure why the street sign was covered in my post. Maybe so it doesn't confuse the tourist.
Wonderful. I like pub shots. And I like pubs - lovely and unconstrained places. It's a pity that we haven't any pubs in Germany. Thanks for this post, Gerald.
The signs outside the British pubs are a cultural heritage all of its own.
I really like these photos:)
Have a nice day:)

Are pubs becoming less fashionable? I'm surprised that any English pub would close down, even for a few months.
I didn't think that Pubs ever closed over there.
I would like to visit there!Beautiful facade!

I'm glad it found new owners! Looks like a fun place! I agree with Rune, the signs outside British Pubs are in a class all their own! Enjoy the rest of your week!

Love the pub sign (although i must admit that I first thought of a gardener armed against crows, rabbits and snails when i read the name ;) )

My ABC Wednesday G
One of the many typical UK pubs.
Love the beautiful 'cote of arms' that each of them carry..
Seen them..Loved them...
English pubs do have a long history...
Love that English Culture!!
I love those old signs, they are a lot better than most new ones you see around on a day to day basis. It looks as if someone put some thought and effort into them.
Charming, esp the signs.

Back to chronicles of the city with not reporting today. Looks like the new owners are putting some love into the place.
It would be easy to while away a few hours in a delightful pub! Nice shots!
Gardeners Arms, I thought the post was going to be about Gardening. Surprise for me, A pub! Great G post this week.
I'll bet the town folk are happy about the new tenants. Cheers!
Glad this historical place is open again. It has a lot of character.
Like the sign for the Gardener's Arms. You can see he has his Arms full of produce. Very nice.
