John Shepley Street (looking North)

This is John Shepley Street which runs between Orchard Street and Mottram Road.

On the right are mid-19th century terraced houses so typical of many Northern towns.

On the left is modern sheltered housing for the elderly.

Across Mottram Road at the end lies Morrison's supermarket.

You can see the view in the opposite direction on Hyde DP Xtra.

What a peacefull sight, how wonderful to see buildings nearly as high as trees. A nice start into the new week.

I agree, it's nice to see a traffic-less street. Great for an evening stroll.

Not only a photo from my home town, but also my home street, I was born there several years ago. Thanks for this and all the other Hyde photo sites, I now live a long way from here, but these photos help bring back some wonderful memories.

My husband lived in a house like these -- in Liverpool.
Glad you liked the canal painting. I still want to touch it up a bit.
