When I posted a photograph of
Flowery Field Cricket Club, Tom of
Wigger's World asked
did you walk down the path to the small tunnel under the train lines that comes out on Dukinfield Road? ... at one time it was well used by the cotton mill workers.
The answer is yes and here is the evidence.

I used to walk through that tunnel to go work at Throstle bank cotton mill in 1980.I was a 'can pusher'
