Continue along the TransPennine Trail from Knott Fold and after a while you reach Apethorn Lane. Railings prevent you walking any further as just round the bend is where the old Godley to Apethorn railway joins the existing line from Manchester via Hyde Central to Woodley and beyond.

Like the good reporter I am, I stuck my lens through a gap in the railings to show you the line of the track ahead.
I'll be back here again but meanwhile for more about this end of Apethorn Lane visit Wigger's World.

Thank you for comment on my blog. To be honest I didn't obtain Mrs Reichhold permission, sice due to my knowledge according to European law as far as I use works which were published, indicate an author and don't use them for ptofit I don't need it. Please let me know if I'm wrong because I really don't want to break any regulations.
Best regards
Joo
Glad its fenced off from the main line! Thanks for ticking your camera through!
I just love these pictures. Either one would make a nice jigsaw puzzle.
These are such beautiful scenes!
This is so charming. It looks strange to see the lane blocked up and I'm glad you showed us the other side.
