Godley/Newton Cricket Ground
Yesterday I promised to show you some green grass.
What could be better than a village cricket ground?
OK it was sometime in October when I walked past the cricket ground in Godley and there was no-one actually playing, but you can't have everything can you?
I've been informed that it is actually Newton Cricket Club, although the ground is in Godley, separated from Newton by the M67. Newton Cricket Club celebrates it's centenary in 2012.

really thanks Gerald! In fact I don`t know what cricket is, but it could be a subject for a further post? :-)
You are very kind indeed!Great picture!
Have a wonderful weekend okay!

Cricket is topical here and I'm sure they would love a green grassy oval instead of dried up fields.
My, but I needed that green!!!!
Beautiful green colour.
I don't know cricket well.
But I think it is similar to base ball.
I imagine a very pleasant and quiet walk!
We got the green, that's the essential! Far too much grey around for my liking in January.
Beautiful.
I agree with Ruby nice to see some Green I have never understood cricket but I enjoy watching local teams play on a nice day
I'll chime in with gratitude for that lovely green. It's hard to believe we'll ever see grass again.
It's so nice to see beautiful green grass like that! Here in the desert we have cacti and gravel instead. I'm not sure what cricket is :)
Were you the only one out on this cold day Gerald?.lol.
Nice capture.
Now that looks scrumptious! I can see myself rolling round on that field for the sheer joy of feeling green grass on my skin again. I'd be stuck fast to the ice and snow if I did that here!
Green is the word. Nice grounds.
How much I need green grass now. But in the window I see only white snow. (Beautiful snow, but still snow.)
That is actually Newton Cricket Club, although the ground is in Godley, seperated from Newton by the M67.
Incidently Newton Cricket Club celebrates it's centenary in 2012.
