Gone Fishing

Whilst the bulldozers were busy knocking down Automasters these two were busy fishing on the Peak Forest Canal.

I don't know what kind of fish you will find in there.

Sometimes, you don't really need to catch a fish to enjoy fishing ;)

It looks cold. (We are all fair weather fishermen.) I suppose he'll catch cold, wet & tasty fish.

"Gone fishing" is an excuse for anything and everything. At least these brought their tackle.

I don't think the type of fish matters too much, it's the fishing that counts.

I used to catch Jack Sharpes (tiddlers)in the cut. My dad Sydney I was told swam the length of the canal. He was a member of Hyde Seal Swimming Club for over 40 years. Champion Boy swimmer of Hyde. My granddad Moss owned a furniture factory and Undertakers business, Market St. Hyde.

My boys will come in from an unsuccessful fishing trip, almost as excited as the successful ones. They'll say "Lots of fishin', not much catchin'!"
