Automasters Gone
Almost a year ago I posted a picture of willows by the Peak Forest Canal, taken from the Manchester Road bridge.
On the left was the Automasters Engineering Works belonging to the firm that made the View Marker on Werneth Low.
Now it is gone and the whole land is to be developed for housing.
See this view from a date before 1980 on Old Hyde.

*Sighs* Blimming houses. Soon that's all there'll be.
I'm sorry, I couldn't think of anything clever to say about your quiz post, it's late and I'm sleepy but I just had to comment on this pending development. How do you feel about that, Gerald? Is this a good thing?
Those people are going to have a wondeerful back view aren't they? I can't help but feel sad to see the land go though. I know people have to live somewhere but when I take a ride out in the countryside and see how fast houses are going up everywhere, I mean THOUSANDS, I can't help but miss the way it was, pristine and just plain beautiful.
What a surprise. More house by some water! Its a shame the building wasn't re-used.
Tomorrows- I think we can buy fireworks in the A.C.T. state but not locally, whats happened to the fun? Too dangerous they say
NAH! Today's picture shudda showed the Punta Garage near this location
