The theme today for members of CDPB is "Feet" so I thought I'd show you some cow heels.
Despite the monochrome rendering, this isn't an ancient photograph. It was taken recently at the tripe stall belonging to Jack Curvis.
You can see another photograph of the cow heels on his stall on my Ackworth born, gone West blog.
I had wanted to feature pig's trotters but they sell so well that Jack had sold his stock before I could get down to the market.

OMG I'm going to faint. Sensitive vegetarian alert! In keeping with my mantra that "daily images should not always me pretty" top marks... now pass me the sickbag.
You know, it's hard to make feet attractive either on humans or animals, but these don't look too bad!

I'd never heard of cow feet being sold as food. Never gave it any thought, either. How interesting! That's one reason I love to travel, even through photos.
Well a good choice for today but I wish the cow was alive!

i've never seen these raw before. But here in Jamaica this (called Cow foot) is eaten as a kind of stew with lima beans.
I'm vegetarian so I've never had it.

I used to stand outside the tripe shop in Blackburn while my mum went inside.
I refused to sit at the table if it was being served.
Very tasty. They do look a different colour to what I am used to seeing though.
