Hyde Photo of the Year 2008 Winner


This old stone pathway leads up from the River Tame to the Peak Forest Canal.

Please note this is a walled footpath NOT a bridge.

Visitors to this blog were asked to vote for their favourite photos from twelve contenders. Path from River to Canal beat Kissing Gate to Rye Field by 199 votes to 137. The runner-up can be seen on Ackworth born, gone West together with full details of the voting and comments on the twelve contenders. All 12 photographs can be viewed at Best of Hyde Daily Photo 2008.

Did you know that on the corner of our Canadian bills we have braille so that the blind can tell the denomination of each bill.

It's hard to read every word when there are so many wonderful photographs to comment on around the world. I love your photo andnow I know it's a walled footpath.
