Oh yeah, I love those little diggers. Used one on a small job, and it was so cool. I mean, it was a small job to the digger, but it would have been hours and days for me to do it by hand. So, yeah, I dig those little diggers!
Thanks,
Wayne

I rented a digger once--I think they call them cats here. I rented it for 1 day, but over the weekend so I assumed I could use it all weekend-- guess what-- it shut itself off after exactly 8 hours.

I dug a pond in the mountains and now it is full of frogs croaking.

They call diggers, Backhoe, here, but when you say digger, most people know what you mean.
I also rented on of those mini diggers once a couple of years ago to dig a trench for wires, It was my first time at the contols and I became quite proficient.

Here I thought you were jesting as the men appear to be standing around. So it is the machine that is the little digger :) got'cha

web-oj - they were digging up the pavement to lay new gaspipes.

isadora - the men are diggers too as well as the machine -- funny how the men think I'm referring to the machines and the women the men!

The men were actually very good - they told us in advance when they'd be turning off our supply and double-checked our appliances when they turned it back on again.

diggers are really needed in the Catskills-- so many rocks and boulders, digging with a shovel is backbreaking work. They rent for $50 per hour at one place nearby.

The big lad on the right is called Gary... a local lad who as worked for the Gas board for a number of years. A Doorman at one time and was well suited to the job.. I think him as his wife Jackie keep horse up on Werneth Low Gerald.
