It appears that green is beginning to overtake parts of the gate, from the sheen on the upright post to the clump of moss on the left. Neat photo.

I remember doing many weeks' work for the National Trust near Hyde - your picture brings it all back to me. Isn't there a place called something Edge near there - I can't remember the name of it but it was supposed to be popular with witches according to the local warden! Alderly Edge, was it?
