Post-smoking ban picture worth £2,500
Following the ban on smoking in public buildings, this is now the scene outside in the street. I won't name the particular pub as it is much the same all over town.
Now, wait a minute; hasn't there also been a recent crackdown on litter in the street? Didn't someone get fined £50 for a single dropped matchstick?
By my reckoning there must be £2,500 worth of litter in this photo alone!

So if I act responsibly and pick all the fagends up, who's gonna pay me the 2500? I'm not holding my breath!
Have you seen the ashtrays they are selling in Tescos - Ashcan? They're little things that sit inside your cigarette packet and hide away the butts so you don't have to throw them on the street. Check www.ashcan.co.uk. It'll help avoid the fine. Companies and bars should give them to people when they go outside to start to make people more aware of the damage they are causing.... these things are dropped in their millions!
Thank you for visiting, I browse your blog later. I don't have much time now and reading english takes a lot of time for me.
I feel a guess the name of the pub competition coming on!!!!
I believe that it will fallir to be accustomed to find cigarette ends in all the corners smokers
There are moves in Australia to make this illegal - like it is in Singapore.
Maybe those big sand trays outside for smokers would help.
In Malaysia, smoking is banned in certain places only and I don't think we have any fines for throwing fags.
I don't hate a smoker, but I really don't like it if they smoke in the public places. It's very unhealthy.
Interesting post!
There is an issue, perhaps the solution is to put public ashtrays outside office buildings, very interesting post. Greetings from MC.
Up to 2002 I lived in Kasakstan, and in these times I really thought that you can see such pictures only in some corners of Asia, but not in Europe ;-)
wow 2,500 euro.. u can almost buy a house in the province here in the philippines....
whoa that's too stiff a price to pay for a butt! :)
There is much money on the street, if you look at it that way.
