Harry Ruthford was a fine man as well as an artist. Little did I know when I was 18 (31 years ago) and worked behind the bar in the Albion pub that the 'old chap' in the corner drinking bottled Ginness was a renowned artist. If I did I would have made sure to have kept hold of all the little drawings he made of the regulars which were placed on the wall behind the bar. There's a fine painting of his in the town hall, it is on the wall to the left of the main staircase and is well worth a look and of course a picture. Hyde as been blessed with a number of fine artists and poets. I am proud to say I knew Trevor Grimeshaw who died a sad death in his home by fire. I am sure that one day the highly collectable artist will have a blue plaque on the outside of his past home.

The blue circle with the white rectangle is a nice look!
