Strawberry Garden

Until recently this greengrocers in a prominent position in the centre of Hyde was a family concern and always known as Curleys - not a reference to their lettuces!

It closed briefly and has now reopened under the name Strawberry Garden.

And possibly, quality choice and service down, prices up? Woerks that way around this part of town. I think greengrocers have the biggest problems competing with the supermarkets, I'd besurprised to see any independents left in 10 years time.

Actually it seems to compete pretty well with the local supermarkets. All the staff now wear "corporate clothing" mind you. They know their customers and are very cheerful and friendly.

Wonderful colors! I always find it interesting when places close down, what will replace them. That it was replaced by a like business is amazing.

Colourful display lends itself to a vibrant photo, doesn't it?
