This very steep cobbled street is known as
Treacle Brow. It joins Stockport Road, by the Werneth Hotel, with Mottram Old Road. On the other side is Higham Lane leading to
Holy Trinity Church.

We lived at at 42 Mottram Old rd until I was ten years old. Your picture is almost the view from our front window!
I was very proud of the fact that I could walk down, turn and walk back up Treacle Brow balancing on the handrail in the centre!
