Sad Reflections

This was taken last Saturday by the frozen Peak Forest Canal next to Aldi superstore.

It is sad to see the debris littering the surface.

I was unaware when I took this late afternoon photograph that half a mile down the canal a man had been found stabbed early that morning. Someone has since been arrested and charged with his murder. Neither were locals.

Another photograph from just a little further beyond can be seen on Hyde DP Xtra.

What is it about holidays that make violent crime that much sadder?

Lot's of tragedy going on around us without us always being aware. Somehow, your photo captures the bleak reality of the tragedy taking place half a mile away.

In many cases, it is both the photo and the story that affect our emotions... Thanks for sharing both.

How terrible that there was a murder there, I'm glad someone has been arrested, the right person hopefully

That is a strange coincidence indeed, taking a picture so near where a man was found dead... It had to the sad touch of your picture.
