Yesterday was the 2010 Gee Cross Well Dressing ceremony.
Booth's Well is decorated by members of the Gee Cross & District Women's Institute.
The 2010 theme is "Over the Rainbow" from the "Wizard of Oz".

I thought well dressing was something that only happened in the Derbyshire Dales .. it's a good idea - brightens up the area.
How refreshingly promissing.

What a nice idea and colourful decoration. But I like the stony wall of the building too. Good combination.
How pretty. I like that stone wall too!
Had to read up on Well dressing. How fascinating. It's an expression of gratitude for a water source, if I read correctly. Reminds us not to take water for granted. I don't know about England, but here in the States, many people are averse to drinking tap water and will drink only bottled water and sodas, then tossing the containers into the trash. Once again, thanks for this little visit, Gerald.
