Lillybank Stores lies on the corner of Stockport Road and Lilly Street near to the Big Tree Memorial.
The plaque on the wall of the attached cottage bears the date 1862 and as you can see in the close-up on Hyde DP Xtra is spelled with a single L.

What a joy it must be to listen to the stories able to be told about and around this nice building.

What is that big red post or pillar in the foreground? I can even see it on Google Earth.
Great shot. For Fred Miller: It's a beautiful English Post Box I think!
It's charming.
I Worked at this shop for 10 years....ah..happy times :)
I used to live up the street on Werneth Avenue when I was 10-12 years old (1960-1962) and my mother would have me go to the shop to buy bacon. I would love to watch the shopkeeper slice it on their slicer. Those were the days.
