Weekend Reflections:
Peak Forest Canal at Apethorn

Reflections in the Peak Forest Canal South of Apethorn Lane.

On the left hand side is the site of Gee X Mill.

See how Gee X Mill and the canal looked in 1984 on Old Hyde.

See more of how the site appears now on sithenah.

See the view North on Ackworth born, gone West.

Check out more weekend reflections at Newtown Area Photos.

I've stood on that old 'Green Bridge' and watched the shadows change many a time.... I spent my childhood playing around here, my youth would see me out hunting the woods for rabbits and pigeons for the supper pot... and now I still venture down here when ever.... I have changed as the shadows have... a simple picture that as memories flooding back to me Gerald.... for that I am thankful..

I love the big blocks of stone on the other side, which look like they lead to a well-manicured lawn. Beautiful.
