Site of Windy Harbour
Site of the restaurant at Windy Harbour.
Windy Harbour has had mixed fortunes over the years. Once it was a popular restaurant but at various times the buildings here have lain vacant. Despite plans for a new restaurant and hotel, the buildings were badly damaged by arsonists and demolished in 2000. Since then no plans to restore the facility have come to fruition. The carpark has been fenced off.
The only photographs I have of the old restaurant are from a distance but you can see them on Old Hyde.

It looks a little sad around there.
About time, to provide a harbour for the wind, searching for a hold.
Hopefully spring bring a change.
Please have a nice Tuesday.
I suppose in a way that could be called, "Progress" and may be a good thing. Maybe they fear another arsonist adding another fire to the record and the don't want to go through that.
Over here, insurance premiums rise at an alarming rate if you claim property damage and fires usually damages a lot of property. In time, the people would not be able to get any company to insure them against arson or any other loss.
