I first showed you Pole Bank Pond in 2008.
It doesn't look as lovely now as it did then having been dredged of accumulated mud as part of a renovation effort.
Once the home of prominent mill-owners, the Ashton family, Pole Bank Hall is now a private nursing home. The grounds, however are a public open space.

I didn't know the grounds were open to the public. Might have a wander over when the summer arrives.
