Napier Street

Napier Street lies off Osborne Road and is a typical suburban street of mainly terraced houses.

For the benefit of readers who are not familiar with the term "terraced houses", this Wikipedia page explains quite well.

Interesting. Thanks for the link to Wikipedia, I had not heard the term terraced houses before. When I think of a terrace, I imagine an agricultural method of making fairly wide, level planting beds on a slope.
Thanks also for coming by and guessing on my macro puzzle; the picture is a detail of a gatepost in a fence. If you would like to see the whole object, I have a picture of it in today's post.

Lovely Street. I'm wondering if you managed to "fly" away? I do hope so.

It seems to be a quiet residential area. Thank you for your Wiki link. In Germany there are also terraced houses, they are called Reihenhaus.

In many areas, terraced houses have become very "gentrified". Interesting that "terraced houses" isn't an international term. Presumably the type of house isn't unique, just that the terminology is different.

Thanks for the link. I know them as townhouses or row houses here in Middle Missouri. Whatever the name, the street looks charming and quiet.

They usually have a lot of character built into them what you don't always get with newer houses, and are usually well put together too.

Nice pic.

With some telephone lines. I guess that's a component of the city landscape which will disappear in the not so distant future.
